Typical Tourists
Was the last day of work and school for everyone today - the second time for all of us in less than a year.
Mum is glad to be done with the school run. The huge hill we live on (and the recent wet weather) has been aggravating her knees, making all the walking we do here very painful. She was thrilled that one of the other mums picked her up this morning and drove everyone to school.
Packing is progressing well, 10 cartons done so far with another 6 waiting in the wings. Will be very surprised if we use them all... we only came with 10 - can't believe we expanded that much in 8 months.
For our last sightseeing trip in London, we paid a visit to Madam Tussauds last Sunday, and despite the fact that it was a miserable day, mid winter and non school holidays there was still a massive queue to get in. We waited 3/4 an hour in the line and then I was tempted to walk out again when we found out the entrance fee for 2 adults and 3 children was £88...even after earning £'s whilst in London that seemed an excessive amount of money!
Glad we carried on though, it turned out to be a lot of fun, despite losing Petra whilst she was checking out Princess Diana, and there were plenty of photo opportunities...

We head off to Rome this Sunday morning - our bargain flights (£1.69 each, one way) don't seem such a good deal now. I've calculated that to make the 6.00 am departure we need to leave Barnet at 2.30 am - wish me luck getting the kids up :-)
Ciao for now and take care of each other
